Mary Jo Howard Wagner, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999 at her home in Bradenton, Fla. She was born Sept. 7, 1925 in Malden, Mo., the daughter of Harry John and Olive Tomerlin Howard. She married Bill Wagner in 1947 at Reno, Nev.

Mrs. Wagner graduated from Central High SChool in Cape Girardeau and attended Southeast Missouri State University. She was formerly a member at First Christian Church in Cape.

Survivors include two sons, Bill Wagner of Denver, Co. and Jack Wagner of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Judy Wagner Housley of Napa Valley, Ca. and Carolyn Wagner Smith of Bradenton, Fla.; two brothers, Attorney, Leonard T. Howard of Reno, Nev. and Jay Howard of Aurora, Colo.; a sister, Doretta Howard Kaluna of Cape Girardeau, eight grandchildren; and 21 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister and brother-in-law, Olive Elizabeth and Furgison Hunter of New Madrid.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999 at Cape County Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Cy Smith, retired pastor of Red Star Baptist Church, will officiate.

A memorial service was previously held in Bradenton, Fla. on January 17, 1999.
