Mary Jane Palermo, 64, of Cape Girardeau passed away peacefully surrounded by the ones she loved on Monday, Nov. 8, 2021.

She was born July 29, 1957 in Cape Girardeau to Dan Richardson and Leah Masterson. Mary Jane and Gary Palermo were married March 3, 2000. He survives of the home, heartbroken at the loss of his wife. She was his everything.

Mary Jane graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1975. She was a restaurant manager for 25 years.

In her spare time she bought and sold vintage collectibles and would paint and repurpose furniture (it was more than just collecting and repurposing, it was like therapy to her). As a wife, mother, grandmother, family member, friend and coworker Mary Jane always made life more fun.

She is also survived by her three children, Lacy Deevers-McLendon, Joseph Palermo and Nicholas Palermo; a brother, Daniel (Christy) Richardson III; a sister, Margaret (Terry) Farrow; a grandchild, Jaidyn Young; two very special friends, Ann Burchyett and Myra Jung; five nephews, Lance Farrow, Adam Hale, Daniel Richardson, Dustin Richardson and Dean Richardson; a great-nephew, Isaac Hale; two great-nieces, Abby Minor and Bella LeGrand.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandchild, Hunter Robert Keefer; a sister, Jean Hails; a niece, Amy LeGrand.

And finally in her own words, "Nothing is ever easy, I want my service open to EVERYONE and I want them to SMILE."

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Ford & Sons -- Mt. Auburn Chapel at Cape Girardeau.

A celebration of life will follow after the funeral service.
