She was born Nov. 27, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of W.E. and Elsie Davis. She and Fred D. Kohler were married Feb. 19, 1966, in Cape Girardeau.
Kohler received a degree from Southeast Missouri State University and a master's degree from the University of Colorado.
She taught Spanish at Gateway High School in Aurora. She was a Cultural Exchange participant. Her interests included foreign travel.
Survivors include her husband, Fred; two daughters, Kathryn of Atlanta, Ga., Caroline Pickerill of Aurora; her mother, Elsie Davis, of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Jerry and Phillip Davis of Cape Girardeau; and a grandson.
She was preceded in death by her father following a three-year battle with cancer.
Graveside service was held Sept. 26 at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
