Mary E. Hume, 61, of Jackson died peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003, at her home.
She was born June 2, 1942, in St. Louis. She and John P. "Jack" Hume Sr. were married Aug. 15, 1959. They celebrated 44 years of marriage in August.
Mary was a member of Shawnee Hills Baptist Church in Jackson. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, and listening to southern gospel music.
Her family remembers her for her devotion as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Loving survivors include her husband; two sons, John P. "Pat" Hume Jr., wife Amy, and children Landon and Caroline Hume and Carter Bess of Jackson, Scott W. Hume, wife Heidi, and children Guthrie and Avery of Jackson; three daughters, Laurie Christenson, husband Doug, and children Clark and Blaine of Gillette, Wyo., Julie Hume of Murphysboro, Ill., Amy Sparks, and husband, Garrett, and son Noah of Jackson.
Also surviving is her mother, Evelyn Teson of Jackson; two brothers, Ronald Teson of St. Louis, Mike Teson of Jackson; and a sister, Billie Dixon of Jonesburg, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Teson.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Raymond V. Epps and Luther Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
