TAMMS, Ill. -- Mary L. Hood, 71, of Tamms died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center. She was born Aug. 17, 1925, at Tamms, daughter of John H. and Emma B. Wilson Hale. She and George C. Croft were married June 6, 1943. He died Nov. 11, 1981. She later married Charles F. Hood Sept. 26, 1987...

TAMMS, Ill. -- Mary L. Hood, 71, of Tamms died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 17, 1925, at Tamms, daughter of John H. and Emma B. Wilson Hale. She and George C. Croft were married June 6, 1943. He died Nov. 11, 1981. She later married Charles F. Hood Sept. 26, 1987.

Hood was a member of Happy Hours Senior Citizens Club in Tamms and Teamsters Retiree Club in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Ann Blackwood of Oklahoma City, Sherry Vick of McClure and Carol Mitchell of Tamms; a son, Dennis Croft of Tamms; two brothers, Raymond Hale of Grand Chain and Luther Hale of Marengo; two sisters, Irene Webb of Alton and Wanda Pang of Tamms; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms after 5 p.m. today.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in St. John's Cemetery near Dongola, with the Rev. Larry Potts officiating.
