TAMMS, Ill. -- Mary Ruth Honey, 78, of Tamms died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, at her home.
She was born Aug. 11, 1928, in Columbus, Ga., daughter of the late James Henry and Birdie Irene Millsap Quinn. She was married to Lorn R. "Pod" Honey Sr., who died in 1999. She was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church in Tamms.
Survivors include two sons, Lorn R. Honey of Paducah, Ky., and Donald Honey of Thebes, Ill.; three sisters, Opal Crite of Edwardsville, Ill., Ethel Quinn of Montgomery, Ala., Effie Quinn of Columbus; two brothers, Luke Quinn of Opalaka, Ala., Joe Quinn of Montgomery; and three grandsons.
She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen H. Honey; a brother, Leo Quinn; and a sister, Annie Quinn.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo, Ill. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Revs. Darnell E. Faire and Edward Crite officiating. Burial will fbe at McCrite Cemetery near Tamms.
