Mary Hitt

Mary Jean Hitt, 82, of Cape Girardeau, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019, at Chateau Girardeau.

She was Born, Dec. 19, 1936, near Commerce, Missouri, the daughter of Martin Wilhelm Friedrich and Bessie Estelle Raines Koch.

On March 8, 1959, she married Paul Leroy Hitt at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Commerce. He preceded her in death Jan. 26, 2016.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews and great-great-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Marion, Joseph and Albert Koch; and sister, Golda Koch Johnson.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dave Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest Hills Cemetery near Morley, Missouri.
