JACKSON, Mo. -- Mary R. Hartje, age 76, passed away Friday, Aug. 18, 2000, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Friends may call Monday, Aug. 21, between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral service will be Tuesday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. JACKSON, Mo. -- Mary R. Hartje, age 76, passed away Friday, Aug. 18, 2000, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call Monday, Aug. 21, between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral service will be Tuesday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. The Rev. David Johnson will officiate.

Mrs. Hartje was born April 22, 1924, in Carbondale, Ill., the daughter of the late Wilbur and Maida Lawder Morgan. She and Louis Hartje were married Sept. 15, 1950, in Chester, Ill. He survives.

Other loving survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Luanne Hartje of Arlington Heights, Ill.; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Don Hinkebein of Jackson; one sister, Velma Rae Helms of Herculaneum; and three grandchildren, Kyle and Kara Hartje of Arlington Heights and Sarah Hinkebein of Jackson. She was preceded by one sister, Mildred Boeger.

Mrs. Hartje was a 1948 graduate of the Southern Illinois School of Beauty Culture. She was a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Jackson.
