Mary K. Harold, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at Fountainbleau Lodge.

She was born Nov. 14, 1921, in Beaver Meadows, Pa., daughter of John Michael and Mary Kost Kotch. She and Frank J. Harold were married Oct. 2, 1954, in Beaver Meadows.

Mary was a 1943 graduate of Hazleton, Pa., State Hospital School of Nursing. She began working in the Hazleton area as a private duty nurse and for local physicians. In 1953 she moved to Linden, N.J., to become the plant nurse at GAF Corp., where she met her husband. She later served in hospitals in New Jersey and Kentucky.

She formerly lived in Middletown, N.J., Paducah, Ky., for 26 years, Atlanta and has been in Cape Girardeau the past nine years.

Mary was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Frank J. Harold of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Mark J. (Florence) Harold and Thomas J. (Diana) Harold of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Nancy (Andrew) Grayson of Atlanta, Jane (Larry) Schnurbusch of Cape Girardeau; a sister, N. Regina Kotch of Beaver Meadows; 11 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Saviour Nundwe officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
