CAMPBELL, Mo. -- Mary Lou Hampton of Campbell died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

She was born at Parma, Mo., daughter of John and Pearl Sebastian Buttrey. She and Jack Hampton were married July 16, 1954, at Parma.

Mrs. Hampton was a retired secretary. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Campbell, where she was secretary 20 years. She was organist 36 years, and over the years was active in Sunday school, vacation Bible school, GAs, Acteens, Sunbeams, youth, choir and Women's Missionary Union.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Brian Hampton and wife Beverly of Malden, Mo.; a daughter, Andrea Landewee and husband Michael of Kelso, Mo.; a grandson, John Hampton; four granddaughters, Allison Hampton, Elizabeth Landewee, Alicia Landewee and Adrianna Landewee.

Also surviving are six sisters, Pat Atwill of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., twin sister, Alice Crow of Parma, Betty Wagner of Parma, Iva Nell Blatchley of Denver, Colo., Nancy Buttrey of Cordova, Tenn., Carolyn Shelton of Malden; three brothers, Samuel Buttrey of Broseley, Mo., Edward Buttrey of Fisk, Mo., and John Buttrey Jr. of Orlando, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Geraldine Buttrey.

Friends may call at Landess Funeral Home in Campbell from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Campbell. The Rev. Jeff Gatewood and the Rev. James Marlar will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery-Landess Addition at Campbell.
