SIKESTON, Mo. -- Mary Alice Cauble Hale, 85, passed away peacefully with her daughters at her side Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, at Delta South Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sikeston.

She was born March 22, 1932, in Cape Girardeau to the late Charles W. and Louise Bierschwal Cauble.

Mary graduated as valedictorian from College High School in Cape Girardeau in 1950. After obtaining a degree from Southeast Missouri State University, Mary owned and operated both the Hale Auction Co. and Ye Cobblestone Shoppe before retiring. She also had a passion for teaching, which included teaching classes at the local business college.

Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved, nurtured and enjoyed every second she spent with her family. She also loved traveling, playing bridge, golfing, leading her Girl Scout troop and teaching Sunday school. She had a very giving heart and loved giving back to the community. She served on the boards of the March of Dimes, the Kenny Rogers Center, and was a supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda and Bo Catrino and Mary Robyn Goodin, all of Sikeston; a sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Richard Hagedorn of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Mary Catherine "Bunny" (Courtland) Kohlfeld, John Robert (Morgan) Goodin and Sarah Louise (Tyler) Cuba; and three great-grandchildren, Mary Clare Kohlfeld, Wells Kohlfeld and Harrison Cuba. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Cauble and Scott Cauble.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral Monday.

Funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The Rev. Francisco Gordillo will officiate. Pallbearers will include John Robert Goodin, Richard Hagedorn, Ryan Hagedorn, Scott Cauble, Mark Hagedorn, Blake Hagedorn, Courtland Kohlfeld and Tyler Cuba. Burial will follow in the Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Ponder Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
