SIKESTON, Mo. -- Mary Lavada Freed, 82, of Sikeston died Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at her home.
She was born March 25, 1924, in Dublin, Ark., daughter of Joseph Lenus and Virgie Holt Ranzle. She and Samuel Everett Manning were married March 20, 1943. He died Sept. 20, 1945. She and Paul L. Freed were married Oct. 1, 1946, in Charleston, Mo. He died Jan. 14, 2006.
Survivors include four sons, Everett Manning of Carmel, Ind., Richard Freed of Scott City, Donnie and Michael Freed of Sikeston; three daughters, Brenda Guinn of East Prairie, Mo., Gail Presley and Kathy Himes of Sikeston; two sisters, Virginia Davis of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Lily Larson of Seattle, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bob McNabb officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
