ALTON, Ill. -- Mary Jo Francis, 65, of Alton, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, April 10, 1996, at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.
She was born March 10, 1931, at Cape Girardeau, daughter of Lee Roy and Myrtle Smith.
She worked at St. Francis Hospital before moving to Alton in 1953.
She then worked at Owen Illinois Glass plant from 1953 until she retired in 1988.
She married Cloyd Francis, Oct. 23, 1954, at Alton.
Survivors include her husband; three brothers, Elmer and Floyd Smith of Cape Girardeau, and Ray Smith of Chaffee; and six sisters, Evlyn Johnson, Muriel Dombrosky, Lyda Fornkahl, Wanda Morris, Virginia Poston and Judy Dambach, all of Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service was held Friday at All Faith Chapel at the Illinois Veterans Home. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery
Duker & Haugh Funeral Home in Quincy handled the arrangements. Funeral plans were announced locally by Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
