Mary Dean Flaker, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, May 16, 2005, at Lenoir Retirement Community in Columbia, Mo.
She was born Mary Magdelene Cook May 21, 1922, near Montauk State Park in central Missouri, daughter of James E. and Susan Foust Cook. She and Clyde Flaker were married Dec. 7, 1944.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church and its Council of Catholic Women.
Mary had been a secretary for a business machines retailer, and had worked at Remington Rand in St. Louis.
Survivors of Mrs. Flaker include her husband, Clyde; two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Sondra Oetting Flaker of Columbia, Mike and Colleen Scott Flaker of Sikeston, Mo.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Wayne Green of Mandeville, La., Amy and Matt Craig of St. Louis; two sisters, Iona Stephens of Salem, Mo., Deloris Johnson of Columbia; 10 grandchildren, Corri, Kaye C., Susan, Annie and Lauren Flaker of Columbia; Tyler Flaker of Sikeston; Nathan and Jason Green of Mandeville; Delaney and Jacob Craig of St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today. A vigil service will be held at 7.
The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Charlie Prost officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Notre Dame Regional High School.
