CHARLESTON -- Mary Josephine Ferrell, 82, of Charleston died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born Oct. 3, 1915, in Paducah, Ky., daughter of A.G. and Eliza Chandler House. She and Galen Ferrell were married Sept. 1, 1940. He died June 7, 1996.
Ferrell lived in Mississippi County most of her life. She was co-owner and operator of Ferrell's Market in Charleston until retiring in 1975. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church, and had been a Sunday School teacher, and member of the women's mission group.
Survivors include a son, David Ferrell of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Joyce Clemons of Sikeston; four grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston after 5 p.m. Monday.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God Church. The Revs. Gerald Penn and Larry Davis will officiate, with burial in IOOF Cemetery.
