GLEN ALLEN, Mo. -- Mary E. Falica, 77, of Godfrey, Ill., died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Des Peres, Mo. She was born Dec. 29, 1922, at Glen Allen, daughter of V.E. and Maude Shettley Haynes. She first married John Ewing in 1943. He died in September 1963. She later married Rudolph Falica in 1965. He died in November 1994...

GLEN ALLEN, Mo. -- Mary E. Falica, 77, of Godfrey, Ill., died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Des Peres, Mo.

She was born Dec. 29, 1922, at Glen Allen, daughter of V.E. and Maude Shettley Haynes. She first married John Ewing in 1943. He died in September 1963. She later married Rudolph Falica in 1965. He died in November 1994.

Falica was a floral designer. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and its 55 Senior Plus, VFW Auxiliary Post 1308, and a gift shop volunteer at St. Clair Hospital.

Survivors include three sisters, Wanda Durham of Troy, Mo., Betty Demelle of Florissant, Mo., Joyce Fox of Alton, Ill.; three brothers, Keith Haynes of Jackson, Mo., Gene Haynes of Anna, Ill., and Jerry Haynes of St. Peters, Mo.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Elias-Smith Funeral Home in Godfrey from 4-8 p.m. Thursday. A prayer service will be held at 4.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ambrose Church, with the Rev. Virgil Mank officiating. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, Ill.
