Mary Etta Branum, 89, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Southeast Hospital. She was born June 27, 1927, in Chaffee, Missouri, to John and Elizabeth McIntyre Crader. Mary Etta was a longtime member and former Sunday-school teacher at Lynwood Baptist Church. Mary Etta Branum, 89, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Southeast Hospital.

She was born June 27, 1927, in Chaffee, Missouri, to John and Elizabeth McIntyre Crader.

Mary Etta was a longtime member and former Sunday-school teacher at Lynwood Baptist Church. For many years, she volunteered as a “Pink Lady” at Southeast Hospital and was a member of Rose Hills Garden Club. She was a wonderful cook and was always welcoming people into her home.

On Aug. 27, 1948, she married Charles C. Branum, who preceded her in death Jan. 14, 2001.

Survivors include a son, Brad Branum of Cape Girardeau; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jack Carson, Kimberley Davidson and Gloria Cora.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Mark Anderson, senior pastor at Lynwood Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Garden of Memories in Sikeston, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Lynwood Baptist Church.
