ULLIN, Ill. -- Mary Essex, 80, of Ullin, died Tuesday, June 28, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born March 3, 1914, in Pulaski, daughter of Daniel Oscar and Mary Irena Rife Stringer. She and Harrison "Pete" Essex were married in 1938. He preceded her in death...

ULLIN, Ill. -- Mary Essex, 80, of Ullin, died Tuesday, June 28, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 3, 1914, in Pulaski, daughter of Daniel Oscar and Mary Irena Rife Stringer. She and Harrison "Pete" Essex were married in 1938. He preceded her in death.

Essex attended Ullin United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a brother, Charles Stringer of Ullin.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Beth Tickner officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery at Villa Ridge.
