MARY ELIZABETH TOOMBS

CHARLESTON -- Mary Elizabeth Toombs, 73, of Charleston, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 1994, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Oct. 8, 1920, at Harrisburg, Ill., daughter of Ephram and Mary Story Hicks.

She married Kenneth Toombs, Oct. 19, 1980.

Toombs had lived in Mississippi County since 1975, and was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include her husband; three step-sons, Paul Toombs of East Prairie, Kenneth Eugene Toombs of Cairo, Ill., Albert Toombs of Charleston; and four step-daughters, Pat Summers of Charleston, Becky Jones of Wickliffe, Ky., Dorothy Burks of Cairo, Catherine Lafferty of East Prairie.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, with the Rev. Tom Bridges officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
