CAIRO, Ill. -- Mary Eileen Karcher, 82, of Cairo died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Mary Eileen was born Nov. 16, 1934, the daughter of Harry M. and Eileen Ryan Stout. She and James R. "Dick" Karcher were married March 9, 1973, at St. Patrick's Church in Cairo.
She was a lifelong member of St. Patrick Parish, where she was an active member of the Daughters of Isabella and the ladies' altar guild. She was employed at Cairo Auto Supply for 35 years.
Mary Eileen is survived by her husband, Dick; a sister, Elizabeth Turner of Cairo; a sister-in-law, Marianne (Joe) Bargo of Cairo; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Harry T. Stout, Brother John Stout and Robert J. Stout; and one sister, Nell Ann Stout.
There will be no visitation.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Church. Father M.C. Mujule will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery in Villa Ridge, Illinois.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Karcher's memory to St. Patrick Church in Cairo or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the church.
