SIKESTON -- Mary Edna Burchfield, 95 years old, of Sikeston died at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 1991, at Miner Nursing Center.
She was born Dec. 4, 1895, at Wooster, Ark., daughter of James and Ula Clements Wofford.
She married John Lee Burchfield Aug. 25, 1913, at Wooster. He died Oct. 20, 1973.
She had been a resident of Sikeston since 1987, having moved here from Kewanee. She was a member of the Kewanee Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors are sons, Vernon Lee Burchfield, Mill Brae, Calif., Garland, Hartsill and James Burchfield, all of Sikeston, Rudolph Burchfield, Rolla, Oliver W. Burchfield, Newport Richey, Fla., and Harold Burchfield, Corpus Christi, Texas; daughters, Una Mae Rhodes, Dexter, Maxine Sweat, South San Francisco, Calif., Fayrene Cunningham, Delraye Beach, Fla., Wanda Die, Memphis, Tenn., and Patsy Oswalt, Bragg City; sisters, Anna Haley, Hot Springs, Ark., Merle Butts, Ula Rogers and Nell Hogan, all of Conway, Ark., Riva Castleberry, Little Rock, Ark., and Luna Knoblock, Germantown, Ill.; 28 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Two sons, a daughter two sisters, three brothers, and a granddaughter also preceded her in death.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Service will be at the funeral chapel Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Herschel Newman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
