MARY E. HOLDEN

ANNA, Ill. -- Mary E. Holden, 73, of Anna died Saturday, June 21, 1997, at her son's home east of Anna.

She was born Feb. 4, 1924, in Perks, daughter of Waldo and Wilda Langston Herren. She married Melvin Holden on June 21, 1951, in Louisville, Ky. He survives.

She was a retired telephone operator and a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Anna.

She is also survived by four sons, Joel Holden of Floyd Knobs, Ind., Richard Holden of Cuba, Ill., and Gaylen and Gordon Holden, both of Anna; three sisters, Letha Jones, Lois Holden and Jean Thomas, all of Louisville; a brother, John Herren of Louisville; and five grandchildren.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna, and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Gospel Assembly Church.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Revs. Dennis Fitzsimmons and Walter Stevenson officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery near Dongola.
