Mary Belle Dohogne, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Chateau Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 10, 1924, in Cape Girardeau to Andrew William and Frances Odelia Kreitler Roth. She and Silas Dohogne were married Feb. 23, 1946, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death.
Mary was valedictorian of the 1942 St. Mary's High School graduating class.
She worked 22 years for the Missouri Division of Employment Security.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, St. Vincent's Women's Council, St. Vincent's Mission Club, The Ugly Quilt Group, a beloved and long-time member of the St. Vincent's Quilters and the River Heritage Quilt Guild.
Survivors include four daughters, Christine (Ed) Gaffigan of Springfield, Illinois, Cecilia (Jim) White of Columbia, Missouri, Noelle (Steve) Hendricks of Bartlett, Tennessee, and Teresa (Richard) Buxton of McKinney, Texas; two sons, Dennis (Lisa) Dohogne of Jacksonville, Florida, and Patrick (Lisa) Dohogne of Cape Girardeau; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Dohogne of Cape Girardeau; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Thomas J. Dohogne; and grandson Joseph Dohogne.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. David Hulshof officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
