Mary Dee Ford, 97, of Oak Ridge entered her heavenly home Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at the Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Mrs. Ford was a strong Christian woman who devoted her life to God, her family and her friends. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Oak Ridge, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She was the oldest member of Oak Ridge FCE Homemaker's Club and was involved with the WMU organization. As the wife of a farmer, her skills as a homemaker were many. In her free time, she loved working crossword puzzles.

Mary was born Dec. 18, 1919, to Robert Lee and Effie Jane Williams Fronabarger. On June 30, 1940, she was married to Dean Crites Ford in Oran, Missouri. He preceded her in death Oct. 29, 2008.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Dean (Jerry) Ford of Poplar Bluff and Lloyd Lee (Joan) Ford of Anderson, Indiana; five grandchildren, Debbie (Jeff) Woodsmall of Poplar Bluff, Greg (Holly) Ford of Paducah, Kentucky, Robert Ford of Anderson, Indiana, Eric (Jama) Ford of Lafayette, Indiana, and Kim (Bill) Oliver of Noblesville, Indiana. She also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren and one sister, Betty Hahs of Daisy.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jon Sedgwick officiating. Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge.
