SIKESTON, Mo. -- Mary L. Deal, 89, of Sikeston died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 21, 1911, in Rector, Ark., daughter of Francis and Almeda Caufman King. She and William O. "Skeet" Deal were married June 21, 1931, in Atkins, Ark. He died April 8, 1989.
Deal was a foster grandmother and teacher's aide at New Dawn State School. She was a member of Birds Corner Assembly of God Church and its Women's Guild.
Survivors include eight sons, Carl and Robert Deal of St. Louis, Jim Deal of Medford, Ore., Bob Deal of Scott City, Mo., Ken Deal of Williamsville, Mo., Glen Deal of Sikeston, Darrel Deal of Orwigsburg, Pa., the Rev. Carroll Deal of Equatorial Guinea, Africa; two daughters, Edna Marion and Nina Miller of St. Louis; a brother, Orvil King of Circle City, Mo.; 37 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sons, two brothers and six sisters.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Monday.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Revs. Carroll Deal and Danny Marshall officiating. Burial will be in Essex Cemetery.
