JACKSON -- Mary Jacqueline Davenport, 65, of Jonesboro, Ark., died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
She was born April 6, 1931, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Luther Joseph and Vera Jean Miller Statler. She and James Lester Davenport were married June 3, 1960, in Columbia.
Formerly of Jackson, she had worked at the University of Missouri Extension Service in Jackson. She then moved to Jonesboro where she graduated from Arkansas State University in 1959, and then received a master's degree in business education from the university in 1963.
Davenport taught at schools in St. Louis and in Truman, Ark. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 91 at Jackson, and Order of Amaranth in Jonesboro.
Survivors include her husband; a brother, Luther Statler of Edwardsville, Ill.; and a sister, Sabra Malaney of Springfield.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7:30.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Scott Lohse officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
