Mary Crafton

Mary Crafton, 74, of Cape Girardeau passed away, Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020, at Heartland Care and Rehab.

She was born Nov. 4, 1945, in Clarksdale, Mississippi, to the late Wade Ewing and Inez Howard Ewing.

Mary was owner of Hakuna Matata Daycare in Cape Girardeau and a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Crafton; seven children, Dwayne (Latishia) Ewing of Belleville, Illinois, Bryant Gant of Cape Girardeau, Henry (Vanessa) Gant of St. Louis, Michelle (Mark) Hughes of McKinney, Texas, Sabrena (Fred) Ssewamala of St. Louis, Julius Gant of Cape Girardeau and Derek Gant of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Wade Ewing Jr. and Roger Ewing; two sisters, Barbara Seward and Mary Ann Mercer; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Joe Ewing; and a sister, Dorothy Ewing.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
