PERRYVILLE -- Mary C. Modde, 90, of St. Louis, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1993, at Christian Northwest Hospital in St. Louis. She was born Jan. 12, 1903, in Perry County, daughter of Benjamin and Christine Bierk Vessells. She married Clarence J. Modde, who died June 19, 1969...

PERRYVILLE -- Mary C. Modde, 90, of St. Louis, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1993, at Christian Northwest Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born Jan. 12, 1903, in Perry County, daughter of Benjamin and Christine Bierk Vessells. She married Clarence J. Modde, who died June 19, 1969.

Survivors include a daughter, Rose Pilla; four sons, Lyman, Jack, Roger and Clarence Modde; a sister, Ursela Bohnenkamp; 22 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, several brothers and sisters.

Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent's Catholic Church. The Rev. Kevin Fausz will officiate, with burial in Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery at Belgique.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 9-10:45 a.m. Saturday.
