SIKESTON -- Mary Doak Brandom, 95, died Monday, Feb. 17, 1997, at Clearview Nursing Center. She was born May 31, 1901, in Carrollton, daughter of William and Florence Land Smithpeter. She and Thomas Martin Brandom Sr. were married Oct. 8, 1919, at Bogard. He died Feb. 11, 1966...

SIKESTON -- Mary Doak Brandom, 95, died Monday, Feb. 17, 1997, at Clearview Nursing Center.

She was born May 31, 1901, in Carrollton, daughter of William and Florence Land Smithpeter. She and Thomas Martin Brandom Sr. were married Oct. 8, 1919, at Bogard. He died Feb. 11, 1966.

Brandom was a 1919 graduate of Stephens College in Columbia, and a graduate of Chicago Conservatory of Music.

Formerly of the Liberty and Kansas City areas, she was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Liberty, and member and past president of Stephens College Alumni Association Chapter in Kansas City.

Survivors include two sons, William Brandom of Kansas City, Richard Brandom of Sikeston; a daughter, Jane Heilbron of Overland Park, Kan.; 14 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at First Presbyterian Church in Liberty after 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Funeral service will be at the church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, with Dr. Larry Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Ebeneezer Cemetery near Bogard.

Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home in Liberty is in charge of arrangements.

Nunnelee Funeral Chapel was in charge of local arrangements.
