DONGOLA, Ill. -- Mary E. Baker, 93, of Dongola died Monday, Dec. 30, 1996, at Jonesboro Health Care Center in Jonesboro.
She was born March 17, 1903, in Lawrenceville, daughter of Fred and Florence Salter Cook. She married William L. Baker, who died in 1946.
Baker retired as a cook at Dongola School. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Dongola.
Survivors include three daughters, Geraldine Fisher and Lucille Dale of Dongola, Violet DeGroate of Joliet; a son, Fred Baker of Wolf Lake; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
