JACKSON -- Mary Ann Clayton, 52, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at her home in Jackson.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Friday, June 1, at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Parish prayers will be said at 7.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. Msgr. Edward Eftink will officiate. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Mrs. Clayton was born April 9, 1949, in Waukegan, Ill., daughter of Walter D. and Jean Fredrick Schaefer.
Loving survivors include two daughters, Michelle Calvin and Tammy Clayton of Jackson; mother, Jean Schaefer of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren, Melinda and Mark Calvin of Jackson; six brothers, William Schaefer of Pevely, Mo., Joseph Schaefer of St. Peters, Mo., Donald Schaefer and Kenneth Schaefer of Cape Girardeau, James Schaefer of Barnhart, Mo., Edward Schaefer of Perryville, Mo.; two sisters, Karen Wilkinson of Jackson, and Theresa Ho of Plainfield, Ill.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Veronica Aldrich, in 1970; her father in 1976; and two sisters.
Mrs. Clayton worked 23 years at Procter & Gamble, retiring in May 1998. She was a lifetime member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and member of American Legion Post 158 Ladies Auxiliary and Eagles Ladies Auxiliary.
