Marvin Pfautsch

Marvin Pfautsch, 82, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at his home. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Marvin was born Sept. 11, 1929, to Franklin and Elsie Pfautsch in Hermann, Mo. He married Cleora Jannusch on Sept. 17, 1949. They have two sons Mark (Lynda) Pfautsch and Brian (Anita) Pfautsch, all of Cape Girardeau.

Marvin worked for many years as a Realtor in the Cape Girardeau area. He later worked as a salesman and sales manager at Kasten Masonry. He was a member of the Elks and an active Evening Optimist. Marvin enjoyed hunting, fishing and cutting firewood. His delight was spending time with his granddaughters, Gretchen and Claire Pfautsch.

Other survivors include his sister, Mary Jane Ocheskey of New Haven, Mo., and Kenneth Pfautsch of Hermann, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Bob and Harold Pfautsch.

Marvin was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church for more than 50 years.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau, with parish prayers at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, with Father David Hulshof officiating.

Internment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
