Marvin H. Meyr, 83, of Gordonville passed away Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at his home.
He was born Dec. 22, 1921, at New Wells, son of Walter and Ida Leimbach Meyr. He and Allene B. Grossheider were married April 12, 1953. She passed away May 24, 2004.
Marvin owned and operated a dairy farm 36 years in Gordonville, retiring in 1988.
He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells. He later became a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Gordonville, where he was an elder and served 13 years on the church council.
Loving survivors include a son, Donny Meyr; two daughters, Nancy Meyr and Carolyn Meyr, all of Gordonville; a sister, Olga C. Meyr of Cape Girardeau; and a sister-in-law, Wilma Grossheider of Gordonville.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Meyr, Sept. 10, 1979.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, and after 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Zion Lutheran Church.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, with the Rev. Wayne Schwiesow officiating. Burial will be in Zion Church Cemetery.
