MARVIN D. WHITSON

BLOOMFIELD -- Funeral service for Marvin D. Whitson will be held at 1 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home. Burial will be in Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.

Whitson, 77, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 1996, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 27, 1918, in Webster Groves.

Whitson had resided in the Dexter and Bloomfield area the past 14 years. He was a member of Elks Lodge in Dexter. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, and received the Bronze Star, three Oak Leaf Clusters, and Distinguished Flying Cross.

Survivors include a son, Marvin Whitson of Bloomfield, and a grandson.
