CHAFFEE -- Funeral service for Marvin D. Tierney of Chaffee will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Chaffee.
The Rev. Charley Shrum will officiate and burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
Mr. Tierney died Wednesday at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was 69.
He was born Sept. 27, 1921 in DeSoto, to the late Walter and Mae Breckenridge Tierney.
He was a self-employed farmer for Tierney Farms Inc., and a member of the First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
He also was a member of the Missouri Sheriff's Association, the Missouri Soybean Association, and a former board member of Production Credit Association.
On March 7, 1939, he married Virginia D. Drake, who preceded him in death Feb. 19, 1965. He then married Virginia L. Martin on March 5, 1967. She survives of the home.
A daughter preceded him in death.
Other survivors include a son, Dale A. Tierney of Chaffee; a stepson, Gary Martin of Rock Hill, S.C.; two daughters, Phyllis Herbst of Columbia and Brenda Hatfield of Paducah, Ky.; a stepdaughter, Susan Seabaugh of Jackson; and 12 grandchildren.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
