Martin E. Heider, 88, a former resident of Fruitland, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at Ozark Medical Center in West Plains, Mo.
He was born Sept. 2, 1914, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Karl L.H. and Minnie Pensel Heider. He married Lela Fay Schenimann, who preceded him in death.
He lived in Fruitland for many years before moving to Willow Springs, Mo., in 1990. He was a member of Hanover Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau and had been employed with the Parks and Recreation Department in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include a son, Gene Heider of Jonestown, Texas; and a brother, Carlton Heider of Webster Groves, Mo.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
