PERRYVILLE, Mo.-- Martin Clifton, 79, of Perryville, Mo. died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, at his home.
He was born March 30, 1925, at Menfro, Mo., son of Norman and Grace Foster Clifton. He and Lonieta C. Ruessler were married Sept. 28, 1946. She died Feb. 5, 1998 and he and Viola Cashion were married Sept. 2, 2000.
Clifton was retired from Mississippi Lime in Ste. Genevieve, Mo. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and an Army veterans of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Martin A. Clifton of Dodge City, Kan., Paul Clifton of Arnold, Mo.; a daughter, Anna Grace Brune of Perryville, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Childers of South Roxana, Ill.; a stepson, Randy Childers, of Edwardsville, Ill.; a sister, Irene Hager of Perryville, Mo.; three brothers, Virgil Clifton of St. Louis, Francis Clifton of Scottsdale, Ariz.. and Lawrence Clifton of Columbus, Ind.; six grandchildren; one stepgrandchild , three great-grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, a sister and three brothers.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 6:30 to 10 am. Monday.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Chapel. The Rev. Randy Fullerton will officiate, with burial in Home Cemetery with military graveside service provided by American Legion Post 133.
