EAST PRAIRIE -- Martha Jean Browning, 48, of East Prairie, died Monday, Nov. 15, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, following an extended illness.

She was born July 20, 1945, at Charleston, daughter of Robert and Minnie Spinks Rodgers.

Survivors include three sons, Roy, Johnny and Gary Higgins of East Prairie; four daughters, Patricia and Stephanie Higgins, Sharon Atkinson and Shana Browning of East Prairie; two brothers, Albert Rodgers of Harrisburg, Leon Rodgers of Creve Coeur, Ill.; two sisters, Evelyn Wilson of Wyatt, Tresea Rodgers of Charleston, and 12 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Chapel. LeRoy Thornton will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Wednesday.
