Martha Welman Dahringer, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998.
She was born Dec. 5, 1907, at Morley, the daughter of Lee and Pauline Harris Welman. She married A. Howard Dahringer. He preceded her in death.
She graduated from Southeast Missouri State Teachers College and was employed as a teacher. During her career she taught English and drama in Advance and Cape Girardeau, as well as in Arkansas and California.
She later completed a master's degree in English at the University of Southern California. She later joined the English faculty at Southeast Missouri State University, retiring in the 1970s.
She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include a son, Lee D. Dahringer of Indianapolis, Ind.; a sister, Mildred Welman Worrell of Keosauqua, Iowa; and a granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance from 1 - 2 p.m. Monday.
Funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the chapel. The Rev. Clayton Smith will officiate, with burial in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
