MARTHA C. ELLIS

SIKESTON -- Martha C. Ellis, 87, Sikeston Route 3, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 1995, at her home.

She was born July 5, 1908, in East Prairie, daughter of Jim and Jenny Harris Stockman. She and Everett Ellis were married Nov. 25, 1928, in East Prairie.

Ellis moved here 23 years ago from St. Louis.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, LaRoy Ellis of St. Charles, Carl Ellis of Nashville, Tenn.; three daughters, Erma Hart of St. Louis, Thelma Thompson of Nashville, Doris Kelam of Hillsboro; a brother, Roy Stockman of Apple Valley, Calif.; 23 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, son, four sisters and two brothers.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 6:30 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Mike Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
