JONESBORO, Ill. -- Martha Belcher, 74, of Jonesboro died Saturday, Nov. 22, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 23, 1923, in Cobden, the daughter of Roy and Anna Lence Wilkins. She married William "Bud" Belcher at Jonesboro on June 28, 1946. He died March 28, 1996.
She retired from the First National Bank of Jonesboro where she was assistant cashier.
She was a member of the Eastern Star, the VFW Auxiliary and the Tuesday Tea Club. She was treasurer for the Jonesboro School District for many years. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro.
She is survived a son, Dennis Belcher of Glendale, Ariz.; a brother, Donald Wilkins of Jonesboro; and a grandson.
She was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Hileman & Parr Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Burial will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery.
