Marshall Addision Walker, 91, of Jackson died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 18, 1914, at Oak Ridge, son of Ira O. and Bernice Octavia Riehn Walker. He and Marie E. Overbeck were married June 30, 1951, in Piggott, Ark.
Walker was a truck driver for Macke's Farm Service and Trucking, and was a construction worker on the Natural Gas Pipeline. He lived on the family farm from 1953 until retiring in 1981 and moving to rural Jackson.
He was a member of Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158 in Jackson, and lifetime member of VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau.
Walker was a technical sergeant 5 with the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in the European Theater. He was a member of the 95th Infantry Division, known as the Iron Men of Metz.
Survivors include his wife, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Craig Petzoldt officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery with full military honors.
