MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Mark Dover Jr., 72, of Mound City died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at his home.
He was born Oct. 2, 1928, in Mound City, son of Mark and Mildred W. Hayes Dover. He and Kathryn "Kitty" Beavers were married Nov. 29, 1952, in Sikeston, Mo.
Dover was a lifelong resident of Mound City and was owner of Dover's Green Door for 32 years.
He was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mound City and served as an altar boy earlier in his life.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mark Dover III of Anson, Maine, and Donnie Dover of Mound City; one daughter, Sherri Robinson of Mound City; five brothers, John W. Dover of Waterloo, Ill., Paul E. Dover and Harry Dover, both of Mound City, and Mickey Dover and Bobby Dover, both of Olmsted, Ill.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., or from 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with Monsignor Bill McGhee officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Mounds, Ill.
Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
