SIKESTON -- Marjorie Shipman, 71, of Sikeston died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, from injuries received in an automobile accident Sept. 9.
She was born Feb. 18, 1926, at Kennett, daughter of Paul and Dicie Lee Whitworth Mulcahy. She and Anlas D. Shipman were married Nov. 30, 1945. He died Feb. 13, 1973.
Shipman worked many years at Shuffit's Nursing Home. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Steven Shipman of Sikeston; three daughters, Janice Carton, Glenda Demaris and Karen Murrell of Tallahassee, Fla.; two brothers, W.C. "Bud" and David Mulcahy of Sikeston; three sisters, Leota Taylor of Lawrenceville, Ga., Latrieve Fray of Arkansas, and Bea Taylor of Gobler.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tom Geers officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
