Marjorie Nunnelly

Marjorie H. Nunnelly, born March 1, 1929, in New Florence, Missouri, passed away Monday, Sept. 11, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience and community service.

Growing up on a farm, she developed a lifelong passion for animals, gardening and the natural wonders of Missouri. As a young woman she excelled academically and athletically.

Marge and her husband, the late Dr. Gordon Nunnelly, settled in Cape Girardeau in 1955 and raised their four children. Marge played a crucial role in supporting her husband's medical career, working as his office manager and receptionist.

She actively participated in community projects, including the founding of the local Unitarian Fellowship, the creation of the Doctors Park and the development of the Nunnelly's Cloister Vineyard. Marge's unwavering dedication to her family, friends and nature will be deeply missed.

May she rest in eternal peace, cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
