EAST PRAIRIE -- Marjorie Louise Hopgood, 83, of East Prairie died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.
She was born May 25, 1916, in Bayouville, daughter of George W. and Florence Ann Duffey Schneider. She and Finley Marshall Hopgood were married in 1937 in Paragould, Ark. He died Oct. 31, 1988.
Hopgood lived in East Prairie most of her life. She and her husband owned and operated the former Hopgood Tractor. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include a son, Jim Hopgood of Independence, Ky.; three sisters, Fern Cobb of Sikeston, Marie Greer of East Prairie, Cora McMinn of Charleston; a granddaughter; and two great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Fred Girdwood will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
