Marjorie E. Hoehne, 91, of Jackson passed away Monday, March 2, 2020, at Monticello House.

She was born Dec. 30, 1928, in Tilsit to Robert L. and Martina Peetz Fluegge. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit and also attended the church's former grade school. She was a 1948 graduate of Jackson High School and then obtained a teaching certificate from the former Southeast Missouri Teachers College.

Marjorie was an elementary teacher at Lutheran schools in Altenburg, Missouri, Friedheim and Shawneetown. She made her church home at Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown, where she was active in the Ladies Aid, quilted and enjoyed making apple butter.

Marjorie and Wilhelm "Bill" Wachter were married May 24, 1952. Bill's employment in road construction often kept him away from home, so Marjorie sometimes traveled with him. Her skill as a seamstress made it easy for her to find work in the communities where they made their temporary homes. They had been married 26 years when Bill passed away Nov. 11, 1978.

On June 20, 1981, Marjorie married Curt "Pat" Hoehne. Together, they enjoyed traveling, fishing, dancing and playing cards with friends. They had been married 22 years when Pat passed away Dec. 3, 2003.
