Marjean L. Cook, 65, of Burfordville passed away Monday, Sept. 26, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Marjean L. Cook, 65, of Burfordville passed away Monday, Sept. 26, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 12, 1940, in the Egypt Mills community, daughter of August "Peanuts" and Evelyn Maevers Lange. She and Raymond A. Cook were married Aug. 20, 1960, in Jackson.

Marjean worked 24 years at the former International Shoe Co. in Jackson. In 1985 she began working at Rubbermaid in Jackson, and retired in 2001.

She enjoyed motorcycling with Raymond and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Her personal hobby was collecting salt and pepper shakers.

Loving survivors include her husband of 45 years, Raymond of Burfordville; a son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Sarah Cook of Burfordville; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Wade Jarvis of Millersville; her mother, Evelyn Lange of Jackson; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Harold and Sharon Lange of Jackson, Jerry Lange of Jackson; and six grandchildren, Chantel, Tara and Dustin Jarvis, and Shelby, Colten and Kelly Cook.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Danny Joe (1961), and her father.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jerry Sander officiating. Interment will be in Haynes Chapel Cemetery near Burfordville.
