CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Marion G. Scheffer, 51, of Chaffee died Sunday, May 14, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Sept. 20, 1954, in Cape Girardeau, son of Lawrence Edward and Adella Marie Heisserer Scheffer. Marion was employed at Scott County Sheltered Workshop in Sikeston, Mo. CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Marion G. Scheffer, 51, of Chaffee died Sunday, May 14, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 20, 1954, in Cape Girardeau, son of Lawrence Edward and Adella Marie Heisserer Scheffer.

Marion was employed at Scott County Sheltered Workshop in Sikeston, Mo. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee.

He was an avid, lifetime Chaffee football and baseball fan, and loved the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Rams. He loved to be around family and friends, and enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include five brothers, Fred (Margaret) Scheffer of Hermann, Mo., Michael (Donna) Scheffer of Cabot, Ark., Patrick Scheffer of Chaffee, Martin (Sue) Scheffer of Randles, Joe Scheffer (Alanna) Scheffer of Cabot; three sisters, Beatrice (Stuart) Mashek of Scott City, Carolyn (Glen) Crites of Chaffee; Theresa (Danny) Simpher of New Hamburg, Mo.; 23 nieces and nephews; and 32 great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leonard and Paul Scheffer; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Scheffer; and a nephew, Richard Mashek.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 6.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating. Burial will be in Texas Bend Cemetery near Charleston, Mo.
