Marion C. Coburn, 90, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born July 19, 1928, in Humnoke, Arkansas, to the late John and Irene Slaughter Coburn. Marion served in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1951. Marion C. Coburn, 90, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 19, 1928, in Humnoke, Arkansas, to the late John and Irene Slaughter Coburn.

Marion served in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1951. He owned and operated Coburn's Auto Service in Cape Girardeau since 1954. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3838 and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 69 years, Helen Coburn; four children, Delphia (Greg) Jameson of Fruitland, Debbie (Tom) Barrows of Oak Ridge, Delbert (Judy) Coburn of Cape Girardeau and Denna (Jack) VanBoening of Tolleson, Arizona; sister, Katherine Reynolds of Conway, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, Michele (Bryant) Carter of Jackson, Misty (Tracey) Mezo of Mulberry Grove, Illinois, Mindy (Kyle) Wilson of Tamms, Illinois, Marian (Cody) Levan of Oran, Missouri, Amy Schwab (Pat Springer) of Silverthorne, Colorado, Chris (Maddy) Barrows of Perryville, Missouri, Dusty Barrows of Fruitland, Tina Marshall of Gallatin, Missouri, and Melissa (Jeffrie) Carl of Jackson; 13 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arthur Owen; half brothers, Jim, Jack, Curtis and Clifton Coburn; and half sisters, Minnie Coburn and Lucille Owen.

Private services will be held at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Missouri Veterans Home in memory of Marion.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
